I love steampunk as a genre and costuming. Luckily I know the talented Heather of Scoundrelle’s Keep, who specializes in corsets and pairs them with striking steampunk/victorian inspired ensembles. On several occasions I have had the opportunity to do runway for her and was excited when she agreed to have me in this photoshoot with one of her regular models. This photoshoot was an excuse to trek out to Willow River State Park to see it’s gorgeous waterfall. We hiked down to the perfect spot (in sensible shoes that we changed out off) and spent the day climbing around the rocks to get the shots you see below.

When talking with the photographer we decided on a fun and carefree theme for the shoot, we wanted it to be about cute steampunk girls exploring. In my first look I felt like a bit of a airship pirate and in my second look was fluffy steampunk girl.

All pieces were made by Scoundrelle’s Keep from thier Alkali collection. Heather uses her own patterns to create pieces out of silks, satins, brocades, and even leather. All of her corsets are sturdy and steal boned. Rin and I used our own pieces to accessorize; I chose some leather Miz Mooz boots, a Noble Collection Timeturner (for extra geek flair!), and a plum feather hair piece.
