Cosplay Costume Write-Up: Supergirl
This costume was borrowed from my friend Holly Robin, I love that we can share costumes which lets both of us enjoy having a larger cosplay closet
While Holly or I could easily make this costume from scratch sometimes it’s nice to be able to collect/alter ready made items, saving time and effort on those costumes that require bconstruction from scratch. Being as it was made before Supergirl shirts were easily available a cropped white babydoll was used for the top, the logo decal made of a painted vinyl cutout, while the cape is satin finished with iron-on blanket tape and snaps into the collar. Matching well with Supergirl’s character, Holly found a sporty blue tennis skirt for the bottom. My favorite part are the boots; combat style fashion boots that were originally black but painted with layers of metallic red fabric paint.
Topped of with Supergirl’s signature black headband and little white gloves this relatively easy costume can be put together by anyone wanting to cosplay but is hesitant to sit behind a sewing machine.
